Note: Only file, project, and site admins can reset MFA secrets. If you are not a project or site admin, you will need to reach out to an admin associated with your account.

Step 1: Confirm your site or project admin reset your MFA secret.

Step 2: Once you have confirmed that your project or site admin has reset the secret for you, make sure to delete any existing Embershot codes in the Google Authentication app (If you no longer have access to your Google Authenticator app, skip to Step 3). To delete the codes, you can click on the pencil icon in the top right corner of the Google Authentication app, select the items to delete and then press delete.

Step 3: Now that you have reset the Google Authentication App, and your admin has reset your MFA secret, you will need to set up your MFA authentication again. Go to www.embershot.com on your desktop computer, log in with your email address and password. You will then be prompted to scan the QR code.

Note: If you are not prompted to set up the Google Authenticator again by scanning a QR code, then your MFA password has NOT been reset, and you will need to reach out to your site or project admin again.

Step 4: Launch Google Authenticator on your mobile device. Click the add “+” sign and select “Scan QR code” or “Scan Barcode”. (Reminder: Do not enter any existing codes, you should have already deleted the codes in Step 2).

Step 5: Scan the QR code: Once you tap “Scan QR Code” or “Scan Barcode”, your camera will appear on your mobile device. Hold your mobile device camera up to the QR code shown on your screen. This will auto-enroll your Mobile Device into MFA.

Step 6: Enter code: Within Google Authenticator, you will see a six-digit code, enter the code into Embershot, and click “submit." Note, the six-digit code shuffles every minute. If the six-digit code changes before you hit submit on Embershot, please try again.
