Embershot Account Types:

  • Lite - This is our free account type. Users can upload and share files with limited security permissions to their personal accounts, but these files have limited security settings. Files lite users upload will expire after one week.
  • Pro - This is a paid user who is able to customize and set advanced security permissions on their files. Additional security measures: set self-destruct functions, lock files to one device, revoke sent files, add SMS multi-factor text authentication, and additional security codes.
  • Enterprise Site Admin - This user is the administrator of an organization's Embershot Enterprise account. They can add and manage their Enterprise Pro Users in their accounts. They can create multiple projects and link in project admins to those projects. These users also have the ability to disable accounts within their organization. For more information about setting up an Enterprise account email support@embershot.com.
  • Enterprise Pro User - This user has all the same permissions as a Pro User, but is paid for and managed by an organization.

You can find a full comparison of these account types on our Info Page.

Projects have 2 different settings for Project users:

Note: Project users can have Lite, Pro, Enterprise Pro, or Enterprise Site Admin account types. Projects require at least one Pro Account to set up the project.

  • Project Admin: Making a user an “Admin” on a project allows the user to have shared access to all the files on a project, which they can send to anyone. They can see the history of every file in the project and add users to the project without restrictions. Note that this user could be an Embershot Lite, Insight, Pro, Enterprise Pro User or Enterprise Site Admin. Projects only require one paying Pro or Enterprise Pro User, but the rest of the admins can have Lite or Insight accounts.
  • Project Users: This is a user who has been added to a project by either a Project Admin manually adding them or by sharing a file with them
